Who Can Benefit from Lip Filler
Hyaluronic acid (HA) lip filler adds volume and shape and hydrates the lips, while keeping them soft and natural in movement.
- Thin lips or lips that have lost volume with age
- Uneven lips
- A less defined lip border or cupid’s bow
- Dry lips that could benefit from hydration
We postpone treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding, and with an active infection or cold sore on the lips.
For the cheeks, chin, jawline or under-eyes, see our dermal fillers page.
Frequently asked questions about lip filler
Will it look natural?
Yes. We plan the amount around your face and often start conservatively.
Does it hurt?
Numbing cream is applied first, and most fillers contain a local anaesthetic.
How long does swelling last?
Swelling and possible bruising usually settle within 2 to 3 days. The final result shows at about 2 weeks.
How long does it last?
Usually 9 to 12 months.
Can it be reversed?
Yes. HA filler can be dissolved with an enzyme if needed.
Is there a follow-up review?
Yes. We review you at about 2 weeks, once the swelling has settled, and discuss any adjustments if needed.
I get cold sores. Can I still have lip filler?
Yes. Please tell us at your consultation, as lip treatment can trigger a flare. We will advise you on prevention before your appointment.
