Who Can Benefit
Dark circles have different causes, and PicoWay treats only one of them: brown pigment in the under-eye skin. It breaks up that pigment and stimulates collagen, so the area looks brighter.
| Cause of dark circles | What it looks like | Best treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Pigment | Brown shadow that stays when you look up | PicoWay laser |
| Hollowness (tear trough) | Shadow from a groove under the eye | Dermal fillers, Deusaderm or AestheFill |
| Thin skin and visible vessels | Bluish or purple tone | Skin boosters, Deusaderm or AestheFill |
Many patients have a mix of causes. We check which ones apply to you before recommending PicoWay, alone or with another treatment.
We postpone treatment with a fresh tan, an eye infection, or during pregnancy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is laser near the eyes safe?
Yes, when done by a doctor with protective eye shields in place. We adjust the settings for the thin under-eye skin.
How many sessions will I need?
Most patients need 3 to 5 sessions, spaced 4 weeks apart.
How long do results last?
Around 6 to 12 months. Sun protection, sleep and avoiding rubbing the eyes help results last.
My dark circles are from hollowness. Will PicoWay help?
Not on its own. Hollowness casts a shadow that a laser cannot fill. Fillers, Deusaderm or AestheFill suit that cause better.
Is there downtime?
Mild redness or slight puffiness for a few hours.
PicoWay also treats pigmentation, tattoos and other concerns. See the full overview on our PicoWay Laser page.
