Who Can Benefit
Under-eye skin is the thinnest on the face, so it shows tiredness, fine lines and dark circles early. Skin boosters hydrate, repair and strengthen this skin, so it looks smoother, firmer and brighter, and dark circles become less visible. Dark circles can have more than one cause, so we check yours first.
| Under-eye concern | What it looks like | Best treatment |
|---|---|---|
| Thin, crepey skin, fine lines and dark circles | Wrinkled texture, bluish, purple or dark tone | Skin boosters |
| Brown pigment | Brown shadow that stays when you look up | PicoWay laser, often with skin boosters |
| Hollowness (tear trough) | Shadow from a groove under the eye | Dermal fillers, Deusaderm or AestheFill |
Many patients have a mix of causes. We check which apply to you before recommending boosters, alone or with another treatment.
We postpone treatment during pregnancy and breastfeeding, with an eye or skin infection, or with a known allergy to any ingredient. Please tell us about blood thinners, as the under-eye area bruises easily.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is it safe to inject near the eyes?
Yes, when done by a doctor who knows the anatomy of the area. We choose the booster, technique and depth to suit the thin skin.
Will boosters improve my dark circles?
Yes, especially when they come from thin skin. Boosters strengthen and brighten the under-eye skin. Brown pigment responds best to PicoWay laser alongside boosters, and hollowness needs volume from a filler or collagen stimulator.
How many sessions will I need?
Usually 3 to 5, spaced 4 weeks apart.
Will I bruise?
Bruising is more common under the eyes than elsewhere. It is usually mild and fades within a week, and can be covered with concealer.
When will I see results?
Skin looks more hydrated within a week or two. Firmness, fine lines and dark circles improve over 4 to 6 weeks.
How long do results last?
Typically 6 to 12 months, depending on your skin and aftercare.
Skin boosters also treat other skin concerns. See the full overview on our Skin Boosters page.
